ACT Roadworthy Inspections and Certificates

Based in Mitchell, Car Service Canberra are an Authorised Inspection Station. You will need an inspection and have a certificate issued:

  • if an ACT registration is being transferred and it is more than 6 years from the date of the vehicle’s manufacture.
  • if you’re cancelling interstate registration and establishing it in the ACT.
  • to clear a defect notice.
  • if its registration has been cancelled or lapsed and you want to re-establish it

An annual roadworthy inspection will be required for public vehicles (including rideshare) and an annual gas inspection for vehicles that use liquid petroleum gas (LPG) or compressed natural gas (CNG).

eSafety Check (pink slip) NSW

Car Service Canberra in Mitchell can arrange an eSafety Inspection (formerly roadworthy certificates) for vehicles requiring annual registration renewals, to clear defects or change interstate registration.

Most light vehicles more than 5 years old in NSW, need a yearly safety inspection report (also known as a pink slip).

If you fail the Safety check Car Service Canberra can arrange to make repairs. If you complete the repairs within 14 days and take the vehicle to be reassessed at the same AIS station, no extra inspection fees apply. If you repair the vehicle after the 14 day period ends, you need to pay another inspection fee.
